Mallorca Foto Deporte is a project born from the desire to help, through photography, people who are passionate about sports. In sports, there are many unforgettable moments: the joy of the physical activity itself and the joy of achieving goals, especially after constant attempts or the disappointments and sadness of when things don't go well. Even these moments are unique. I would like to share them with athletes, their families, and friends.
I am a Japanese photojournalist who has lived in Mallorca since 2004. I have spent over 20 years photographing matches and sporting events, collaborating with local and national newspapers. Football is the sport I have spent the most time with, but I have also experienced futsal, volleyball, gymnastics, rugby, water polo, basketball, athletics, cycling, and squash, among many others.
The most popular sports attract thousands of fans. Everyone knows the basic rules and how they work, and therefore many moments are shared, opinions are exchanged, and discussions take place before, during, and after a match. But on the other hand, there are the so-called minority sports, which also attract fans and passionate amateur athletes.
I would like to meet all these people and share with them these special moments that, through sport, make us vibrate.
